Abergele Garden Society

Cymdeithas Arddio Abergele

The next meeting of the Abergele Garden Society will take place on Monday 9th September 2019 when we will welcome back Jack Wilgoss of Wildegoose Nursery, who will give a presentation entitled ‘A Late Summer Love Affair’.  The talk will run through their favourite late season flowering perennials and grasses, and provide ideas on how to extend the garden’s interest right through summer and into autumn.

Wildegoose Nursery, located near Craven Arms, Shropshire was established in 2011 as specialist growers of hardy perennial and scented violas, and this was the focus of Jack’s talk when he visited us 2 years ago. The Violas remain at the heart of the business, but it has now extended beyond this to encompass a wide range of flowering perennials and grasses, which are offered for sale alongside the violas on the nursery.  As well as the Nursery, there is a 2 acre Walled Garden, that has been restored to reflect a modern interpretation of a Kitchen Garden.  For further information about the nursery, garden, and events, please visit the nursery’s website at http://wildegoosenursery.co.uk/

All of the Society’s meetings take place at Mynydd Seion Meeting Room, Llanfair Road, Abergele LL22 7AW, and new and existing members and visitors are always welcome, so please come and join us.   For full details of the interesting programme of speakers that we have arranged for this year, please see our Calendar of Events page.  If you have any questions about our meetings or the Society in general, contact Wendy Price, secretary, via the website link (www.abergele gardensociety.org.uk)
